What to Do with Kids in Melbourne over the Long Weekend 2018

Apart from the obvious - eat hot cross buns til you can't move, hide chocolate Easter eggs all over the house - there is actuall a ton of stuff to do with the family across Melbourne to celebrate the Easter long weekend.

Melbourne Easter Show

Yes there's a fun easter egg hunt at this fantastic family day out, but there's also Freestyle motorcross, an Aqua Adventure Zone, sand sculptures, reptile kingdom, showbags, monster trucks, circus play, fun kids presenters, live music, face painting, animal farm, carnival zone, and even visits from Abby and Elmo (straight from Sesame Street!) and Paw Patrol.

If you like to go big, this is the outing for you!

Easter Fun Day at Ripponlea Estate

Stately homes more your thing? Rippon Lea Estate has wonderful festivities on offer for the kids, from the traditional Easter egg hunt in their magnificent grounds, to meeting the actual Easter Bunny! Along for the ride is his sidekick for the day, Ripplea Bear.

There will be craft, activities and outdoor games, and the Mansion will be open for all to explore, and this year's Easter Egg Hunt (for hildren aged two to twelve) will involve finding and recording the location of hidden Easter eggs, then returning to Easter Fun Day HQ to be rewarded with a prize of scrumptious chocolate eggs!

Celebrate Easter at Fed Square

Celebrate Easter is on again this year, where three churches from different denominations come together to host this free event at Federation Square, right in the heart of Melbs.

There will be great speakers and great music, with songs sung and the words spoken highlighting the good news of the gospel, so join in and have some fun!

Easter Art Market Woodend

Woodend Art Group's Easter Art Market showcases quality works at market prices, and will be an unusual and cool day out over the Easter weekend. Framed and unframed paintings, sculpture, wood work, pottery, felting, photographs, are all available, and entry is via gold coin donation, making it a budget-friendly outing!

While you're in beautiful Woodend, you can take in the spectacular autumn colours, have a meal at one of the wonderful eateries, or even make a weekend of it with a cosy fire-lit cottage stay.

Mad Hatter's High Tea

Rye Kids Festival

Rye Kids beach Festival is a fun festival held over the Easter Holiday period for toddlers to teens, the local community and visitors to the peninsula.

For five days the festival will offer a program full of circus workshops, stage performances, roving acts and magic shows. Also with carnival rides it provides lots of entertainment for children and families.

Easter bunny will visit with an egg hunt on Easter Sunday, so don't forget your buckets!
