Why didn’t we think of this sooner?! Nothing screams family holiday adventure more than actually sleeping in a treehouse- and Airbnb has a whole host of treetop homes you can call your own. Check out some of our favourites and the incredible photos!

1. Broken Head Bodhi Treehouse


Consider this for a romantic couples getaway- it’s big enough for 2! This one is “nestled amongst 17 acres of subtropical rainforest and organic gardens”, in the gorgeous Byron region. It is 3 storeys tall so you’re bound to get some pretty wild views, has 1 bedroom, a kitchen, a T.V, ocean views from the bedroom and eco-friendly furnishings. 2. The Kyoto Mountain Lodge


Rustic mountain elegance at its finest. We just adore the decor and cosy vibes offered by this treehouse on top of a mountain, just a 25 minute drive from Byron Bay. They suggest a 4WD to get you the 3.5km high you need to reach your new abode. This has 4 bedrooms, an outdoor garden shower, an old enamel bathtub, solar powered showers and an Aussie bush meets Scandinavia style. You can get this one from $160 per night. This is nestled between 2 national parks AND a world heritage listed rainforest, so nature lovers will be in bliss. This is a 1 bedder, with a kitchen, fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows and divine looking spa. 5. River Room, Bellingen Treehouse


If you want to get down to some earthy adventures, this is the treehouse for you. There’s a freshwater pool in the front yard, a fruit and veggie garden, walking tracks, canoeing facilities and national parks nearby. This place is known for it’s peaceful moments and occasional cacophony of birdlife, rain storms, and beautiful surrounds. It could be yours for around $220 per night. More information here.

6. Treehouse, Magic Habitat


If you’re ever travelling solo and want a unique treehouse experience on a budget- this one is for you! At just $51 per night (this can drop to around $25 per night during off-peak periods), you can stay in this actual treehouse in the middle of a wild jungle garden, in the Hunter region! Climb a ladder to the 2m high verandah, and be amused by the quirky and cosy stylings of this treehouse made out of recycled materials. Currently unavailable.
