Top Six Movies These Winter School Holidays 2019

  • All Ages

The 2019 June-July School Holidays are upon us and the movie line up is, frankly, sensational. I predict it will be the adults pushing to go! Oh and just as a side note, Event Cinemas Australia-wide are gearing up for a jam-packed holiday season filled with FREE film-themed arts and crafts activities that’ll have kids using their minds, hands and flexing their creativity to make take-home artworks as a memory of their day out at the movies. From making bookmarks, hats, masks and more, the arts and crafts activities are all themed to the family films showing during the school break.

Visit Event Cinemas or check with your local participating cinema for scheduled activities and Family Saver tickets and session times, as details and availability vary from site to site.

The Lion King

Release date: 17 July 2019

Rating: PG

Running time: 1 hour 58 minutes

The much anticipated CG-animated re-imagining of the 1994 Walt Disney classic The Lion King. You already know the story – Simba, Mufasa and Scar, whose younger brother issues cause massive family drama….

A little like the recent release of Aladdin and Dumbo, personally I become somewhat reluctant to see remakes of movies I so adored the first time around but if the reviews are anything to go by, this movie is worth it.

The voice over cast includes some massive names such as Seth Rogen, Beyonce Knowles, Donald Glover, John Oliver and James Earl Jones.
