There are some great kids playgrounds in Sydney that have top-notch cafes close by, and here are some to explore with the whole family.
Flying Fox Playground & Cafe, Mona Vale
The Flying Fox Cafe on the Northern Beaches offers a modern bistro feel. The Flying Fox Cafe and the adjacent park has been open since 2006 and is a popular destination because of its relaxed vibe, family-friendly atmosphere and spectacular water views. Aside from their delicious coffee, Flying Fox offer a kids menu and are open for breakfast and lunch. The outdoor playground has a shaded area and a variety of play equipment to keep energetic tots entertained.

Livvi's Cafe & Timbrell Park, Five Dock
Another hotspot for active kids and coffee-seeking parents, Livvi’s Cafe in the Inner West suburb of Five Dock has a kiosk serving great Campos coffee, breakfast, lunch and snacks. The adjacent Timbrell Park playground is unique as it also caters for kids with special needs on the Autism spectrum, and for children with vision, hearing or mobility impairments. It truly is an inclusive playground for all kids.

The Armory Wharf Cafe & Blaxland Riverside Park, Newington
The Armory Wharf Cafe is located within the grounds of Blaxland Riverside Park in Newington, Sydney Olympic Park. It serves all-day breakfast and has a contemporary menu. The area has an outdoor shaded area on the riverside deck providing stunning views of Parramatta River. The park itself keeps curious kids busy with climbing walls, slides, swings and a climbing tower. There is a huge water play area with interactive waterspouts the kids will absolutely love. Once the kids have had their fill of the park, you can enjoy a family picnic or ride your bike on the nearby bike track. If walking is more your pace, there is a long walking trail within the park.

Another hotspot to check out with the kids, the Grounds Keeper Cafe and nearby park at Blacktown Showground has great coffee and a Mediterranean menu for breakfast and lunch. A play area with slides, climbing equipment, and shaded water play provides endless play opportunities. There are picnic, walking, and bike-riding facilities nearby for active families.

Western Sydney Parklands
Western Sydney Parklands is an absolute hidden gem! It is located in Abbotsbury, the South West suburb of Sydney and there are a number of combining parks with an abundance of actives for the kids. Amoretti’s Cafe is located within Plough and Harrow Park and is a sophisticated high-end park cafe that’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The park itself offers a zip line feature for older kids called TreeTops Adventure Park. There’s also water play, biking and walking tracks, as well as a little pond with ducks the kids will love feeding.
On the adjacent end of Plough and Harrow Park is Lizard Log. This park also has a play area, picnic and bbq facilities, walking and riding tracks, and is famous for it’s Saturday morning Lizard Log Markets. They not only sell fruit and vegetables, but also homewares, trinkets and yummy foods. The best part is that the kids can play free during the markets, oh and don’t forget their amazing coffee!
