A few weeks ago we heard a rumour that Coles Supermarkets would be following in the footsteps of New Zealand New World with their own Little Garden collectibles to follow on from Coles Little Shop 2 by rewarding mini shoppers with seedling packets at the checkout.

Well, ask and you shall receive! Little Gardens are coming to Australia but not at the hands of Coles. Woolworths is set to launch their own version with Woolworths Discovery Gardens in September, and they look as cute as a button!

A spokesperson from Woolworths can confirm that they will be launching Woolworths Discovery Garden in September, a new supermarket collectable designed to give Australians of all ages the opportunity to grow their very own fresh food!

One lucky shopper has managed to score a sneak peak of the mini garden collectables in Noosa. Posting in a Facebook group for collectors, she made the discovery (seemingly it was an accident by Woolies?!) and shared these pics:

Woolworths Discovery Garden is based on the internationally successful ‘Little Garden’ which has previously been rolled out in countries such as New Zealand and South Africa.

You'll get one of 24 collectable seedlings in a biodegradable pot for every $40 spent in store, starting on September 11, 2019.

We can't wait to get our mitts on these adorable little gardens and start encouraging the younger generations to nurture their green thumbs and interest in sustainability!
