The New Buzz Lightyear Movie is Coming to Australia

Set your lasers, Australia! The trailer for the new Buzz Lightyear movie has dropped and it's already got Toy Story fans in a buzz!

Disney and Pixar’s Lightyear Movie

Lightyear is the official title of the new Buzz Lightyear movie from Disney and Pixar that's set to drop in 2022. The first trailer for the new movie came out this week and is showing our favourite space ranger in a whole new light - for one thing, we see Buzz without his helmet for the very first time and what do you know, he's got a full head of hair! A full head of hair is not the only difference fans noticed about the new Buzz Lightyear.

After the Lightyear movie trailer came out, audiences were quick to notice that Buzz Lightyear's voice is remarkably different. Fans of Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear have no doubt become accustomed to Tim Allen's deep voice throughout the years, however, it's Chris Evans (aka Captain America) who is going to voice the hunky space ranger in the 2022 flick.  

Lightyear Movie Synopsis

Lightyear is more of a Toy Story spin-off than a continuation of the Toy Story characters. Lightyear is a sci-fi action-adventure movie that tells the origin story of Buzz Lightyear and is purportedly the action movie that Buzz the toy was based on. 

According to Pixar CCO, Pete Doctor, "We designed Buzz Lightyear with the idea that he was a toy based on some really cool character from an epic blockbuster film. All these years later we decided it’s time to make that film."

Lightyear is set to hit Australian theatres in June 2022 - we can't wait!
