Good nutrition is important for growing bodies

Good nutrition is an essential part to every child’s development. At Guardian they provide children with meals and snacks using fresh ingredients and seasonal produce prepared by our on-site cook.

Children at the centre enjoy five nutritionally balanced meals each day, prepared by the on-site cook using fresh and seasonal ingredients. We cater to all dietary and cultural requirements.

Children at Guardian Rouse Hill will be involved in the growth and harvesting of fruit, vegetables and herbs in the centre’s gardens which allows them to play an active role in the meal times at the centre.

Meal times are not just about eating. They provide a fantastic opportunity for children to experience new tastes and textures, and to gather together socially. When children, educators and families come together to eat and drink, an opportunity for social and language development exists along with self-help and hygiene skills.
