James Ruse Reserve Playground and Water Park

    Kids

Named after James Ruse, one of the first convicts who arrived on the first fleet and was said to have understood agriculture. The reserve is part of the land grant in which Ruse developed a self-sustainable farm back in the late 1700s.

Rich in history, today the farm-themed Reserve has a playground with two skate parks, a new water play area, slippery dips, a rope climbing frame with a rope bridge, climbing mounds, swings and ride ons, and plenty of picnic tables and shelters.

The water play area itself has a variety of interactive water features like water jets and sprays for kids of all ages from toddler to teenagers – all within a good shaded zone. The water play’s summer opening hours are from 9am to 6.30pm, from 10am to 3.30pm in spring and autumn and closed in winter.

The only downside is that there currently isn’t any toilet facilities. So parents, do bear that in mind while you’re at the park.
